At Juno, we believe mental wellness requires trust. That trust starts with transparency and a deep commitment to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and safeguard your information when you use our services, including the Juno mobile application, web-based administrator portal, and any affiliated services.
1 · Information we collect
A. Personal information
We collect the following data when you register or interact with Juno:
- Name
- Email address
- Password (encrypted, never stored in plaintext)
- Phone number (optional)
- Device identifiers and IP address
- Account preferences and feedback
B. Wellness & journal content
When you use our journaling features, we collect and store your journal entries, mood logs, emotional reflections, goals, and task interactions. This data is treated as highly sensitive and is encrypted at rest.
C. Usage & analytics
To continuously improve our product, we collect technical usage information, including:
- Time spent in journaling modules
- Feature interactions
- Crash reports and error diagnostics
- Aggregate anonymised trends
We do not use your journal content for behavioural advertising or third-party marketing.
2 · How we use your information
We use your information strictly to:
- Create, authenticate, and manage your account
- Deliver personalised journaling guidance and AI reflections
- Send transactional communications (e.g. reminders, progress reports)
- Monitor app usage and optimise performance
- Ensure compliance with security and legal standards
- Conduct internal research and analytics (anonymised or aggregated)
3 · Data storage & security
We employ industry-leading safeguards, including:
- End-to-end encryption: Sensitive journal data is encrypted both in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest using AES-256.
- Access control: Only authorised system processes, not human staff, can access journal content.
- Anomaly detection & audit logging: We monitor for unusual access patterns and maintain immutable audit logs.
- Patch automation & vulnerability scanning: We auto-apply critical security patches and scan infrastructure daily with Amazon Inspector.
All user data is hosted on secure AWS infrastructure in US-EAST-1, and protected under applicable data residency laws.
4 · Data sharing & third parties
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing. We only share your data with trusted service providers (e.g. hosting, analytics, crash monitoring) under strict data processing agreements. All partners are required to maintain the confidentiality and integrity of any data shared.
5 · Your rights
You have the right to:
- Access and review your personal data
- Request correction or deletion of inaccurate or outdated information
- Withdraw consent for data processing (where applicable)
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at liam@juno-app.com. We will respond within 30 days.
6 · Data retention
We retain your data only as long as necessary to provide our services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. If you delete your account, your personal data will be permanently removed from our systems within 30 days, unless retention is legally required.
7 · Use of AI & machine learning
Juno integrates advanced artificial intelligence features to provide personalised journaling prompts, reflections, and emotional insights. We use OpenAI's GPT API to power our in-app AI mentor and journaling assistant. We are committed to deploying this technology responsibly and with complete respect for your privacy.
A. No data used to train AI models
Specifically:
- We do not send your data to OpenAI for training or model improvement.
- All requests to OpenAI's GPT API are sent via private, secured channels under the "API-use only" setting, which explicitly excludes training.
- Juno does not train any in-house large language models on your personal data.
B. Use of data for personalisation only
To offer meaningful and context-aware support, Juno stores certain user data (e.g. past reflections, goals, moods, and journaling patterns) in a private vector database powered by Weaviate. This allows your AI assistant to recall and reference your own history — but never anyone else's.
Key protections include:
- User isolation: Each user's vector data is sandboxed and scoped to their account only.
- Encrypted at rest: All Weaviate-stored embeddings are protected by AES-256 encryption.
- No external model access: The vector database is used exclusively within Juno's infrastructure and is not exposed to OpenAI or any third party.
- Ephemeral LLM context: We use your past data only to generate the AI's reply in real time. We do not retain or reuse it in LLM prompts beyond the active session.
C. Transparency & control
We believe AI should serve you, not the other way around. That's why:
- You can request deletion of all your AI-interaction history at any time.
- We do not profile, categorise, or rank users based on their journal content.
- We never use AI to make automated decisions that impact your account access, billing, or data privacy.
8 · Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect product improvements, legal changes, or best practices. When we do, we'll notify you via in-app notification and/or by updating the policy on our website. Your continued use of Juno after any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.
